The theme for Polish Pickup is Weird Science. I was interested to see what this month brought since there were so many different directions that makers could have gone with this theme. Do they get inspiration from the movie? From a specific science subject? Or maybe a science experience?? The possibilities seemed endless! I have 22 of the August PPU products to share and there is such a fun range of inspirations, colors, and finishes!
Polish Pickup will be open from Friday, August 7th to Monday, August 10th. You can grab your polishes here!
All swatches done using Vapid Lacquer – Commitment Issues Peel Off Base Coat and Quixotic Polish Fancy A Quickie glossy top coat. Pictures taken in direct lighting with a natural daylight Ottlite.

It’s Glow Time is described as a dark teal jelly based polish with a fierce yellow green shift (aka “glow”) that starkly contrasts the dark teal. The iridescent orange and green shifting flakes mimic the fireflies and add dimension. Inspired by Synchronous Fireflies. This synchronous species of fireflies are very special, and they exist only in a handful of places throughout the world. No one is sure why the fireflies flash synchronously. Competition between males may be one reason: they all want to be the first to flash. Or perhaps if the males all flash together they have a better chance of being noticed, and the females can make better comparisons. Fireflies light is bioluminescent, which makes for a fun inspiration when designing a polish.
