I had the pleasure of working with a new to me brand in June. Death Valley Nails in an indie polish company that specializes in high quality and hand mixed polishes that are ten-free, vegan, cruelty free, and nontoxic.
I received three polishes from the maker for photos and review. Let’s take a look!
Wildrose
Wildrose is described as a dark burgundy red polish.
Opaque for me in two coats, Wildrose has a crelly like consistency that applied incrediby smoothly. I’m not a huge fan of VNLs, so I definitely went for a second coat, as the first coat was slightly sheer.
Pictured with a glossy top coat.
There was no way I could pass up using a matte top coat with this polish (and boy was I glad I did)!
Badwater Basin
Badwater Basin is described as a dark purple polish with multichrome finish.
Opaque for me in three coats. The application was smooth and not streaky. The multichrome finish was very subtle for me and the holo is definitely the star of this show.
I decided to pass on using the matte top coat with this because… holo!
Ghost Town
Ghost Town is described as a sheer top coat with violet, gold, platinum, and pink shimmer.
I was intrigued by the violet/pink shimmer in the topper, so I decided to try it out over both a light and dark creme polish. Application was smooth and not streaky.
One coat over a black creme
One coat over a pastel purple polish and topped with a matte top coat.
