January has been one of those months where things have been going so well that I start to get a bit overconfident, then the universe comes in and knocks me back down to my place.
98% of the month was going swimmingly. I was ahead on my swatches, things have not been too crazy at work (a little bit of consistent craziness is to be expected in child welfare), and I have made good strides in incorporating more tacos (and pizza) in my life. Things were going good….. too good… next thing I knew, disaster struck. Caution: Dry Cuticles Ahead.
Yep, I was devastated…. and numb… was it getting dark in here… why is it so cold…
Lol. Just kidding. I was pretty upset at first, but then I went into problem solving mode. I got some good recommendations from some ladies in Acetone Alley and did a home patch with a silk wrap and nail glue. Then I popped over to a nail salon to get a clear/pink gel mani to keep thing in place until the nail grows out! Isn’t she beautiful????
Now that the universe is back on our side, let’s get down to business!

CBL Creator Leah Ann shared an awesome story about the inspiration behind this polish:
Inspired by the last outfit he wore on stage during the concert I attended in Dallas. My best friend and I concocted a plan to say we were staying at each other’s house for the weekend. We then snuck off to Dallas to a Queen concert. Long story short, my BF talked her way back stage for us, I met the band and couldn’t bring myself to even breathe. Freddie took notice and asked “Are you alright dear?”, I thinkI shook my head yes and he kissed me on the cheek and went to his dressing room. This is the outfit he had on when I met him.
I Am SO Grounded was opaque for me in two coats.
