It’s been a little while since I checked in with you all. Did you miss me??? Lol, nevermind. πππ
It took me a lot longer to fully get back on my feet after being in the hospital, but… THE HOLIDAYS! I can’t get enough of the holidays, but by January, I need another month to recover. But I’m back at it and I have some more gorgeousness for you. I have a new to me brand that I was able to try out in December and I wanted to share my swatches and some information with you.
Kandy Polish provided a bottle of their nail polish and a top/base coat to swatch and review. Kandy Polish is an indie nail care brand that focuses on wellness. Their products are:
- Vegan,
- cruelty free,
- 10 free,
- infused with essential oils to help natural nail strength, and
- hand mixed.
The combination base/top coat has a thinner consistency, which made it easy to apply. I had no issues with the formula and it left a smooth, shiny finish once dry. Kandy’s polishes are not quick dry polishes, but they did not take long to dry for me.Β Using it as a base coat, it dried in about a minute. It took about 3-5 minutes to mostly dry when I topped the nail polish. I would say that it was fully dry and good to go in about 30 minutes, which is not too bad.
Money Maker is a lime/money colored polish with a golden shimmer and slightly metallicΒ finish. Money Maker was opaque for me in three coats. This is a sheerer polish, so I still have a visible nail line after two coats. Since I am not a huge fan of VNL on my nails, I added a third coat, which was perfection. The formula was smooth and applied with no problems.
I was excited to get to use Money Maker is a “winter” mani. I couldn’t bring myself to do a full winter mani with snow and ice (and other cold things that I don’t want to think about) because it is hitting to close to home. I worship the Arizona heat, but lately we have been in the 50s and 60 even in Phoenix. My body is not prepared for this! (Cold emoji). I went with an evergreen mani instead, using Lina Nail Supplies Plate – Winter 02 and Esmaltes Da Kelly – Helix.
Another pro for the base/top coat – I used it over the stamping and it did not smear any of the stamping polish. I also did not ge any shrinkage as the top coat dried. You can’t beat a no smear top coat.
